MSP meets the team

On Monday, Rachael Hamilton, MSP for Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire, dropped in on Border Women’s Aid to meet the team and find out more about our work.

After the visit, she posted on social media her congratulations on our latest funding success from the National Lottery, and that our “work is making a real difference to the lives of women in the Borders who have been subjected to domestic abuse.”

It’s terrific to have our work so publicly acknowledged. It was also great to have the opportunity to raise our voice on behalf of abused women, and to engage with the social and political complexities surrounding the issue of domestic violence in our community.
