SIGN THE PLEDGE: Do your bit to stop domestic abuse in the Scottish Borders

One in five women in Scotland will experience domestic abuse during her adult life – women who are our mothers, our daughters, our sisters, our grandmothers, our friends, our neighbours.

Young women are the most vulnerable. The latest figures from Police Scotland recorded 65,251 domestic abuse incidents in a single year. More than 1000 incidents of domestic abuse are reported each year in the Scottish Borders. Many others go unreported.

Recent changes in Scottish legislation mean that all forms of domestic abuse and coercive control are a crime.
