Border Women’s Aid’s vision is of a society in which women are full and equal participants and live free of the threat of domestic abuse and other forms of violence against women.

By volunteering with us, you can play a part in helping women, children, and young people to change their lives for the better.

At BWA, volunteers are a vital part of our team. We highly value the contributions of our volunteers whether it’s as a member of the board, helping us to deliver services, or fundraising and raising awareness of our work in the community. Volunteering increases the range of skills, diversity and perspective within our organisation. It is also a fantastic way to gain skills and working experience, and there is lots of training on offer so you can learn and develop.

We encourage women from all sections of the community to volunteer. If you would like to learn more about volunteering with us, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

The team at the BWA have been very welcoming in the beginning of my volunteering journey. It does feel like a close, safe environment where I know I'm supported, and my capabilities and wellbeing are constantly considered, as well as educational opportunities to allow me to develop the skills I will need to help the women who use the service. Best thing I have ever done.”

– Danielle, Volunteer at BWA
