He loves me, he loves me not

A shocking number of young women find themselves in abusive relationships. That’s a fact. Nearly half of all domestic abuse incidents reported to Police Scotland are experienced by girls and young women between 16 and 30.

Sadly, many young women often fail to recognise that their relationships are unhealthy. Sometimes, it can be hard to know if a relationship is unhealthy. Often there are mixed signals, and the signs can be subtle and hard to recognise. What seems to be romantic is often toxic.

“My ex was always telling who I could see, and what I could wear. I really thought it was because he loved me until I realised he was trying to control me.”
