A refuge is a safe house for women and their children (if any) who decide to escape from a violent or abusive partner.

The refuge is for any woman who is suffering from domestic abuse and feels threatened by the man she lives with and who decides to escape. The refuge is also for her children who may also have suffered abuse directly or indirectly through knowing that thier mother has suffered.

No woman is discriminated against due to age, race, religion, income or any other reason.

Men are not allowed in the refuge. In most cases this also includes boys over the age of sixteen.

You do not need to prove that your partner is abusive - YOUR word is enough.
